DragonCon YouTube Videos

2009 DragonCon has ended, but videos, including ones featuring Leonard Nimoy, Patrick Stewart, William Shatner and other Star Trek actors and actresses, are appearing online.

Patrick Stewart talked about his time on Star Trek: The Next Generation. He answered questions from the audience, including one on what was his favorite thing about doing The Next Generation. “I like all the things that involved physical activity,” he said. “I love all riding sequences…anything that got me out of that chair.”

Stewart wasn’t as keen on his time as a Borg. “I have to tell you, that being in the Borg stuff was just awful,” he said. “Especially the semi-nude scenes.” Being made up for it “took a long time” and “it was uncomfortable.”

Leonard Nimoy spoke how and why he went into photography. “When I finished working on the three seasons of Star Trek and two seasons of Mission Impossible, I thought, ‘maybe I’ve done enough of that for a while,’ and photography had been love of mine ever since I was eight or ten years old. And I decided I wanted to explore that as a possible change of careers. So I went to UCLA and studied under some very wonderful teachers, about photography as a fine art form. And then I realized, you can’t make a living at photography as a fine art form! So I decided to stick with the acting career but I…a number of years ago, I began to seriously do some fine art work.”

Other videos include one on Star Trek Phase II, Star Trek guest stars (including Louise Fletcher, Bonita Friedericy, Richard Herd, Alan Ruck, Dwight Schultz and Kate Vernon,) an interview with William Shatner regarding his latest projects, and the DragonCon parade.
