Forthcoming Star Trek: The Next Generation Book Preview

Fans eager to read Star Trek: The Next Generation: Losing the Peace, due out June 30th, can read the first chapter online now.

As reported by Simon and Schuster and 8of5’s Guide to the Trek Collective, author William Leisner describes his newest Next Generation novel. “Losing the Peace picks up almost immediately after the conclusion of the Destiny trilogy, as the Federation starts to take stock of just how much damage has been wrought by the Borg invasion, and realizes that even though the Borg are gone, they can’t simply declare victory,” he said. “There are still huge repercussions that need to be dealt with.”Losing the Peace, said Leisner, contains “a number of plotlines running through the book, mostly looking at the personal impact the Borg invasion had on the members of the Enterprise crew,” which include the effect on Captain Picard of losing the residual link to the Borg; Jasminder Choudhury, a woman who lost her family and entire homeworld of Deneva; and Beverly Crusher, who takes on a special assignment.”
