Star Trek Wax Figures To Be Auctioned

Star Trek fans now have a chance to own a six-foot-tall wax figure of Captain Kirk and/or Mr. Spock.

As reported by MarketWatch, the Hollywood Wax Museum will be offering hand-sculpted wax figures, including several Star Trek characters, in an auction by Profiles in History on May 1.For the first time in its forty-four year history, the museum is offering wax figures at auction. Well-heeled fans can place their bids in person, by mail, phone or fax, or on the internet at www.LiveAuctioneers.com.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a true piece of Hollywood’s history,” said Joe Maddalena, president and chief executive officer of Profiles in History. “Millions of people from all over the world have visited the Hollywood Wax Museum and seen these amazing wax figures, each of them a piece of art in itself.”

Three Star Trek auctions will be of interest to Star Trek fans. Auction #52 and 53 feature Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner as Mr. Spock and Captain Kirk from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. The third auction of interest will please Klingon fans, as #54 features a Klingon warrior.

Other auctions feature characters from science fiction shows and movies, such as Aliens, The Terminator, Back to the Future, Star Wars and The Matrix Reloaded as well as wax figures of athletes, former presidents, and various movie stars.
