Odo and Quark are stranded together on a cold, desolate planet, and find that they must work together to reach the device which is their only hope of rescue.

Analysis:

Quark and Odo quarrel. Quark and Odo bond. Quark and Odo say silly, out-of-character things for comic effect. I was so bored by this episode that I find I don't have much to say about it. If high adventure interests you, read the play K2, which doesn't resort to cheap character jokes to try to hold interest; instead it explores the real pain and nobility of fighting against nature. I had a hard time rooting for our heroes to win in "The Ascent."
