Picardo, Rhys-Davies To Celebrate Mars

The Planetary Society will host a "Wild About Mars" event the first weekend of the new year at the Pasadena Convention Center, with guests such as Star Trek: Voyager's Doctor, Robert Picardo and Leonardo Da Vinci, John Rhys-Davies.

In a press release from The Planetary Society, other guests, such as lunar astronaut Buzz Aldrin and Bill Nye The Science Guy, who will do a live show onstage on Sunday, January 4th.

Rhys-Davies, currently onscreen in Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, will arrive from Britain to perform dramatic readings from noted science fiction author Ray Bradbury's collected works on Saturday and Sunday.

Picardo will appear with Bradbury in a tribute to exploration, while Aldrin will lead a discussion of the future of human exploration on Mars.

Exhibits will also include a full-sized replica of the Mars Exploration Rover built from LEGO bricks and a 47-foot long replica of a blade from The Planetary Society's Cosmos 1 solar sail.
