Hoekstra Resigns And Taldren Folds

Kenn Hoekstra, who designed several Trek-releated video games, resigned from Raven Software at the same time Taldren, Inc., which worked on Starfleed Command, closed its doors.

Hoekstra announced his resignation from Raven Software at his official website on Monday. Hoekstra said the resignation was amicable and cited his desire to move on to new challenges as his reason behind his resignation. Hoekstra, who designed Star Trek: Voyager Elite Force and Star Trek: Voyager Elite Force Expansion Pack, had been with Raven for seven years.

Speaking to GameSpot, Hoekstra elaborated on his reasons for leaving. Citing personal reasons as well as professional ones, Hoekstra told GameSpot, "Upon examination of my life, I realized that after seven plus years, I've gone about as far as I can go career-wise at Raven Software."

On Tuesday morning, Eurogamer and PC Games reported that game developer Talden, which designed the Star Trek: Starfleet Command game had closed its doors. However, Taldren Chief Executive Officer Eric Bethke also announced that he has been working with a group of Korean designers on several new RPG projects.
