The Roddenberry family has announced the details for Majel Barrett-Roddenberry's memorial service to be held in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 4th.

As reported by Roddenberry.com, the memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Sunday, January 4th at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, in the Hall of Liberty.

Fans are requested to wear business casual attire, but to "wear something colorful," as "Majel hated to be bland." In lieu of flowers or gifts, her family requests that a donation be made in Barrett-Roddenberry's name to one of two organizations; Precious Paws, or C.A.R.E.

"My mother truly acknowledged and appreciated the fact that 'Star Trek' fans played a vital role in keeping the Roddenberry dream alive for the past forty-two years," said son Eugene "Rod" Roddenberry. "It was her love for the fans, and their love in return, that kept her going for so long after my father passed away."

Fans who wish to attend the memorial are encouraged to add their names to a list on the Roddenberry.com website. Fans may also share their memories of Barrett-Roddenberry, by posting in the forum located here.
