Hello World!

After making an off-the-cuff remark while shopping about how it would be fun to have a hammock, I found myself unwrapping one on Christmas Day. I took it for a test drive the other day, and since it's a two-person hammock, it manages to envelop me completely like a coccoon. It's certainly very comfortable (once you manage to get in it), but it also hangs half over the pool, which means every time I get in and out all the pillows I've stuffed inside it are in danger of falling in - which they did yesterday.

I also braved the crowds at the shopping centre yesterday to check out the sales. Unfortunately, all the books on sale seemed to be the ones that no one would actually buy, with titles like '5 Easy Steps To Inner Peace' and 'Gardening In Outer Mongolia.' Sales are also worrying because you spend your time darting throughout the department stores trying not to look at the prices of the gifts you bought only a week before lest you discover they're now 30% off.
