Star Trek: Hidden Frontier has released its sixth season finale, "Her Battle Lanterns Lit", the 42nd installment of the fan film series.

The Hidden Frontier web site notes that this is only the second episode to be released in high resolution as well as standard, describing the latest installment as "What you've been waiting for: The Federation and its allies go for broke against the Tholians."

In the storyline, the Federation, Klingons, Cardassians and Romulans begin an assault on the Tholian headquarters near the center of the Briar Patch, a region of space introduced in Star Trek: Insurrection. Within the story, a new starship and captain are introduced. The series is set in the Next Generation era aboard the starship Excelsior and Deep Space 12.

"Her Battle Lanterns Lit" is available in 640 x 360-pixel QuickTime format via BitTorrent and in standard 320 x 180-pixel resolution. The episode can also be downloaded as an MPEG-4 for viewing on an iPod or PSP. The episode may be downloaded here.

For fans hoping to catch up with the series, a downloadable "Previously on Hidden Frontier" segment is also available.
