Deep Space Nine's Dr. Bashir, Alexander Siddig, will appear in an upcoming episode of the BBC drama Spooks.

Siddig will guest star in the second episode of the second season, which begins airing in June, according to an article at TrekWeb.

In the episode, the team of agents working for MI5 — the British Secret Service — discover that a Birmingham mosque is being used by extremists to train suicide bombers. An undercover MI5 agent is exposed and tortured by the extremists.

Siddig plays Ibhn Khaldun, an Algerian spy brought in to infiltrate the mosque. The MI5 team is unsure at first whether he can be trusted. When he learns of a planned suicide bombing, he becomes determined to save the would-be bomber.

Siddig's episode is scheduled to air June 2 at 10:30 p.m. BST on BBC 3. It will be repeated a week later at 9:00 p.m. June 9 on BBC 1.A&E has picked up the series for American distribution under the name MI5, so the show will eventually air in the US as well.

You can learn more about Siddig's appearance at TrekWeb and at the BBC's official web site for Spooks.
