Hello World!

'First Contact' really is an amazing movie. It was aired on Dutch television this evening, and I again loved it, despite still knowing many lines of dialogue by heart. The best part about the film is still its use of the Borg, who are probably scarier here than they've ever been before or after - certainly scarier than what will be left of the Borg post-Voyager. First Contact also shows how continuity can actually be useful for the writers, instead of being a nuisance best disregarded, as many of First Contact's best moments were the references back to Trek history: the Dixon Hill program, the cameo appearances, the little Enterprises on display. Let's hope Rick Berman and Brannon Braga keep this in mind when developing Series V and Trek X.

In other news, as you probably realised just from the fact you're reading this, I'm at least better enough to do a TrekToday update. After the anti-coughing pastilles didn't work, I went out today and bought something called Darolan, which is supposed to even cure an elephant of coughing. So far it seems to be working, but of course the real test for it will come when I go to bed. Thanks for all the get-well mails you sent me, by the way - I certainly appreciated those!
