UPN To Show 'Enterprise' Bloopers

By Caillan
December 28, 2002 - 9:06 AM

Enterprise bloopers will be shown for the first time next month as part of a new UPN special.

UPN's Funky Flubs, set to air on January 14, 2003, promises "outrageous, side-splitting outtakes" from several of the netlet's regular shows, according to a press release posted at Psi Phi. The special will be hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross, star of UPN's Monday-night comedy Girlfriends.

In addition to Enterprise outtakes, Funky Flubs will include "uproarious, unrehearsed and uncensored clips" from The Parkers, One on One, Girlfriends, Half and Half, new midseason comedy Abby, and Enterprise's Wednesday-night lead-out series, The Twilight Zone.

The special will be produced by Andrew Solt Productions, the company behind CBS' Funny Flubs and Screw-Ups, the blooper show of UPN's sister network. "We're taking a similar approach to the two shows, but the material doesn't overlap," Andrew Solt told trade paper Variety. "Keeping in mind that UPN and CBS audiences are different, of course."

Star Trek bloopers are rarely aired on television, though they often pop up on the convention circuit. The last time UPN showed Trek outtakes was during 1999's Ultimate Trek special, hosted by Jason Alexander (Kurros in Voyager's 'Think Tank').

UPN's Funky Flubs will air at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on January 14. The original press release can be found here at Psi Phi, while the Variety article is available at this page.
