Andromeda Bullets

Though the first season finale aired in most American markets last week, the crew of the Andromeda Ascendant are not slacking! Filming on Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda season two has now been going on for over two months. If you haven't been keeping up with the latest developments in the slipstream, here is a round up courtesy of our sister site SlipstreamWeb.

  • Copyright TV ZoneLisa Ryder and Kevin Sorbo Interviewed

The actors who play Andromeda's courageous command team feature on the cover of this month's TV Zone magazine. Kevin Sorbo talked about how he made the transition from Hercules to Dylan Hunt's High Guard Uniform, and spoke about his character's relationship with Beka Valentine. Lisa Ryder tells how nervous she was at the original audition, and dying her hair blonde to land the part of the Eureka Maru's commander.

  • 'Its Hour Come Round At Last Reviewed

Resident Slipstream Web reviewer Heather Jarman takes a look at the sensational finale episode.

More than any episode to date, 'It’s Hour Come Round At Last' is gorgeously made. The production values, the directing, the performances come together in an elegant package that competes toe-to-toe—and surpasses—any syndicated sci-fi show I've seen of late. Had I flipped on my TV to see Andromeda for the first time, I would have assumed that this was a network produced show. This episode’s technical excellence finally provides evidence that Andromeda deserves the pre-series hype loading last summer's genre media. Comparing 'Under the Night’s' awkward, almost stage-like execution with 'Hour' demonstrates precisely how far Andromeda has come in the last year.

She awarded the episode three stars, and is anxiously awaiting the conclusion in the Fall.

  • Surprises in Store For Season Two.

Staff Writer Zack Stentz spilled the beans on a new episode title, 'The Interview' which will be written by former Xena: Warrior Princess executive producer Emily Skopov. Stentz also hinted that a special guest star for the episode is in the works, but remained tight-lipped on the subject. "[It's] an amazing actor who's played a very well-known recurring character from the highest rated genre show of the 1990s," he said cryptically.

  • More From the Writers.

Stentz's writing partner Ashley Edward Miller is also interviewed. He talks about the "big bangs" in store in the second season - and for the nine weeks after the first episode! You can also read what he says about interacting with fans on the internet.

  • Ratings Are On the Up Again.

Viewing figures for the episode 'Star Crossed' are now available. They show a welcome boost for the show, as figures fell to an all time low in the previous week. Hopefully this is the start of an upward trend, as Andromeda moves into the final two episodes of its first season.
