Hello World!

Rather than have another TT editor tell you about how much they'll miss Voyager, I've decided to devote this column to a taste of Mesopotamia. Courtesy of S.N.Kramer, here are some Sumerian proverbs:

  • Friendship lasts a day,
    Kinship endures forever.

  • We are doomed to die, let us spend;
    We will live long, let us save.

  • You go and carry off the enemy's land;
    The enemy comes and carries off your land.

Trek Two Years Ago

  • DS9 Finale Review
    Jeff 'Koganuts' Koga was privileged enough to be able to attend a special preview screening of the DS9 finale, 'What You Leave Behind.' In the review, Koga talked about the differences between the TNG and DS9 finales, and reported on the Q&A with the actors and producers which followed the screening. Of course, now there's a third finale to add to the mix - Voyager's 'Endgame.'

  • Denise Crosby Interview
    Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar), presenter of the 'Trekkies' documentary, was interviewed by Eon magazine. In the interview, Crosby talked about her reasons for being involved with the film, and how she was more comfortable being interested in the fans than being seen as an object of adoration.

  • DS9 - The Long Goodbye
    Eon Magazine posted an article containing reflections from most of the show's writers. Hans Beimler summed up his thoughts on the dismantling of the sets: "Imagine somebody coming to your house and saying, 'You don't need this room anymore; you don't need this furniture; the kids are all grown up, you don't need this toy train anymore.'"
