The official Star Trek site is reporting that Jim Mees, set decorator on 'Star Trek: Voyager', is expected to make a full recovery after suffering a brain aneurysm while working on the show.

The incident happened last Tuesday, the 18th of July, and Mees was immediately rushed to the Cedar-Sinai hospital where he underwent four hours of surgery. Fortunately, Mees is doing "miraculously well", according to a spokesman: "He's recovering so rapidly, his doctors are shocked and thrilled."

Mees worked as a set decorator on TNG for all of its seven years, after which he moved on to 'Voyager', on which he worked for the first season and then the fourth and subsequent seasons. In 1994, he won an Emmy for his work on TNG.

Mees is expected to be back on the job in late August. Our best wishes go out to him, of course.
