Captain Archer will come face to face with the Xindi Council in one of the final episodes of Star Trek: Enterprise's third season.

StarTrek.com yesterday published the below synopsis of "The Council", which is currently slated to air on May 12:

[The episode] has Archer approaching the Xindi Council on their home turf to argue why the two peoples should make peace and the planet-destroying weapon should not be deployed. Meanwhile, T'Pol, Reed, Mayweather and a MACO infiltrate a Sphere in order to gain information about the so-called "Sphere-Builders," a mission which proves to be far more perilous than expected.

"The Council" was penned by Enterprise co-executive producer Manny Coto, the writer behind "Similitude" and "Harbinger". Veteran helmer David Livingston, who has been directing Trek since The Next Generation, called the shots behind the camera.

The following guest actors will appear in the episode:

  • Randy Oglesby as Degra
  • Scott MacDonald as Reptilian Commander
  • Rick Worthy as Xindi-Arboreal
  • Tucker Smallwood as Xindi-Humanoid
  • Josette DiCarlo as Sphere-Builder Woman
  • Sean McGowan as Hawkins
  • Andrew Borba as Reptilian Lieutenant
  • Mary Mara as Sphere-Builder Presage
  • Ruth Williamson as Sphere-Builder Primary
  • Bruce Thomas as Reptilian Soldier

Many of the guest cast will be familiar faces to Enterprise fans. Randy Oglesby, Scott MacDonald, Rick Worthy and Tucker Smallwood have each appeared in numerous episodes of Enterprise this season as their respective Xindi characters. Josette DiCarlo reprises the role of the Sphere-Builder Woman from "Damage", while the episode marks the fourth appearance of Sean McGowan as the MACO Corporal Hawkins.

Mary Mara has had recurring roles in several prime-time television series, ranging from Nash Bridges to The Handler and ER. Her film credits include K-PAX, Lloyd and A Civil Action.

Of the other actors, Andrew Borba has guest-starred in Alias and The Guardian, while Bruce Thomas featured in both Legally Blonde movies. Ruth Williamson has appeared in Nip/Tuck, The O.C. and The Practice.

Principal photography on "The Council" ran from Thursday, February 12 to Monday, February 23. The episode required several new locations, including sets depicting part of the "Avian Stronghold", where the Xindi Council chamber is located. Scenes filmed inside the Spheres will be digitally completed in the post-production process.
