  • The official Star Trek site is reporting that the final 'Voyager' season will start on Wednesday the 4th of October, when UPN will air 'Unimatrix Zero, Part Two' at 9:00pm. An hour earlier, they'll also be showing 'Unimatrix Zero, Part One' again.

  • Belo, a media company with 18 television stations in the United States, has announced it will be setting up a new television station in San Antonio, KBEJ-TV. The station will serve as a primary affiliate for UPN, as well as airing syndicated shows such as 'Star Trek: The Next Generation'. The station will begin broadcasting on the 3rd of August. With the addition of KBEJ, UPN will now reach 87% of the country.

  • Michael Schneider and Josef Adalian at Variety have written an article about the upcoming name change from UPN into The Paramount Network, including quotes from several top network executives. In the article, they mention that UPN will start heavily promoting the name change after the November sweeps, on both UPN as well as other Viacom properties.

  • And finally, TV Guide is reporting that UPN has dropped 'I Spike', the series they were developing about a group of spies who go undercover as a volleyball team. "I can't bring myself to bulls--t you, it was just bad and we couldn't put it on," commented UPN CEO Dean Valentine, "It fell short of our standards." Meanwhile, 'WWF Smackdown!' will be airing new episodes throughout Fall.
