In a new edition of Rob Allstetter's 'Trailer Park' column for AnotherUniverse, he reports about a recent appearance by Jonathan Frakes (William T. Riker) at the Motor City Comic Con in Novi, Michigan, which took place last weekend. At the con, Frakes mentioned "the latest rumor" was that Star Trek X is currently headed for a Christmas 2001 release.

Frakes said the film will feature the TNG cast, though characters from other series may be added, as "that's fun for the fans and for the other actors." As for what the film should be about, Frakes believed "the next Star Trek movie has to be huge, a huge intergalactic war. [...] It has to have action and humor. Fans of the movies - and those who make them - would like to see a big, all-out war."

A few statements by Frakes on 'Roswell', the WB series he's co-producing, can be found in the full column. Thanks go out to TrekWeb for the lead!

Meanwhile, Spacekoala at Sexy Brent has uploaded a report of the recent Fed Con 8 convention in Germany, where Brent Spiner (Data) also made an appearance. Spiner didn't say anything about Trek's future, but did of course answer fan questions about many subjects, as you can read here. Thanks go out to Lysette van Erp for this!
