Jeanne Wolf at TV Guide has put up a short interview with Robert Picardo (the Holodoc), talking about the upcoming episode 'Life Line'. Not only will he play both the holodoc and the creator of his program on the episode, he also came up with the story idea for it. Picardo is thrilled with getting a writing credit, saying that "that's a first for any actor on a Star Trek series. My next goal is to take over the catering on the set; I know I'd be great at craft services!"

In the interview, Picardo also reveals a bit more about the plot of the episode. "The Doctor is a hologram, but he had to be programmed by somebody. So I came up with the idea of playing both the doctor and his human creator. It's sort of a father-son drama with that classic gulf between them because 'dad' was a little disappointed in the way his 'son' turned out."

In the full interview, Picardo jokes about how much he loved working with himself, and also talks about how his career has always been connected to medicine. Thanks go out to Lee Jamilkowski for this!
