UPN To Plunge Into 'Wolf Lake'?

UPN is reportedly considering showing unaired episodes of cancelled CBS drama 'Wolf Lake' in the post-Enterprise timeslot later this spring.

According to Electronic Media Online, the network is on the verge of picking up four unaired episodes of the horror series. Industry sources told the site UPN may even acquire all nine episodes ordered by the Eye network.

The series is reportedly being touted as a lead-out show for Enterprise at 9:00pm Wednesdays. Supernatural series Special Unit 2 occupied this slot until earlier this season, when it was abruptly cancelled by UPN (story). In recent weeks, the network has filled the spare hour with Enterprise reruns.

If this move goes ahead, it would be the second act of UPN-CBS cross pollination since both Viacom networks came under the aegis of CBS chief executive Leslie Moonves in January. Last week Moonves announced repeats of 'The Amazing Race 2' would air Friday nights on UPN, two days after their first showing on CBS (story).

'Wolf Lake,' which centred around a group of human wolves in a small town, originally premiered on CBS last fall in the Wednesday 10pm timeslot. However, it only averaged 6.5 million viewers per episode, and was cancelled by the network in November.

Trek alumni Sharon Lawrence (Amelia Earhart) and Bruce McGill (Captain Braxton) starred in the series, with Kellie Waymire (Elizabeth Cutler) in a supporting role.
