A licensing agreement will ensure Star Trek XI collectibles will be ready for the release of the new movie.

As reported at Yahoo, Corgi International Limited has entered into a multi-year licensing agreement with CBS Consumer Products to produce collectibles which will last through 2010.

The agreement is worldwide and will permit Corgi International to release collectibles and other product lines based on authentic prop and ship replicas, both with and without electronic and sound components.

"We have continued to work with many partners in renewing licenses for brands that we believe are core to our marketplace," said Corgi International CEO Michael Cookson. "Star Trek is a license that has had great resonance with our consumers, and we expect that the new movie will bring a whole new wave of Star Trek enthusiasts. The marketplace is excited with the forthcoming movie and our range will mirror that excitement, with releases planned for 2008."

Corgi International is a global pop culture company, which develops and markets innovative and high-quality licensed and unlicensed toys, gifts and collectibles sold via direct, specialty, hobby, collector and mass retail outlets. Items range from toys to limited edition memorabilia to premium entertainment prop replicas.
