René Auberjonois (Odo) has signed on to become the second regular cast member of a Star Trek series to appear on Enterprise.

Sources reveal the actor will play an as yet unknown role in the upcoming episode 'Oasis,' which is scheduled to begin shooting this Monday. No further details are known about this episode, but it may be the same episode in which game show host Tom Bergeron will be playing an alien trader (story). Although that episode was first thought to be called 'Osmosis,' this may be due to listeners mishearing the title when Bergeron pronounced it on the radio.

René Auberjonois is of course best known for his role as security chief Odo on Deep Space Nine. He also appeared as Colonel West in 'Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country,' although many of his scenes were cut. In the years since DS9 ended, he has appeared in TV shows such as Frasier and Judging Amy, as well as films such as The Patriot.

This week, shooting was still taking place on 'Acquisition,' the episode that will mark the first Enterprise of the Ferengi. As previously reported, this episode will feature Ethan Phillips (Neelix) as one of the Ferengi, but as it turns out regular Trek guest star Jeffrey Combs (Weyoun, Shran) also had a role in the episode.

'Oasis' is expected to air in early April. As usual, please be aware that Paramount has released no official information on this epsode yet, and until this happens, any such information should be treated as you would any rumour.
