'Shattered' Ties For All-Time Ratings Low

Over at the Star Trek Nielsen Ratings Information Database, we've just put up the final ratings report for last week's 'Shattered', as well as the overnight ratings for yesterday's 'Lineage'. Unfortunately, the news is far from good.

Firstly, 'Shattered' took in some very disappointing ratings, and together with 'Nightingale' it's now Voyager's worst-rated episode ever (not counting 'Juggernaut' in season five, which aired on a Monday):

Upon returning from the long period of Winter reruns, Voyager's situation Nielsens-wise unfortunately hasn't improved at all. 'Shattered' scored a 2.8 rating / 5 share, the same rating 'Nightingale' scored two months ago, placing those two episodes in a tie for the position of worst-rated Voyager episode ever.

Secondly, the overnight ratings for 'Lineage' are in, showing not much improvement over 'Shattered':

'Lineage', the second new Voyager episode of 2001, performed just as well as last week's 'Shattered', taking in a 4.5 rating, 7 share. In its timeslot, Voyager ended in the usual fifth place, ahead of the WB's 'Jack & Jill' (2.2/3), and not nearly as far behind CBS as usual, with that network's Wednesday night movie 'Blackout' scoring a 5.4/8.

Overnight ratings are made up from the top 47 television markets in the country, and for Voyager are usually higher than the final national ratings. For the full report on 'Lineage', please go here.
