U.K. Virgin Media digital subscribers to be offered Star Trek courtesy of a deal between CBS Paramount International and Virgin Media.

As reported in Variety recently, Star Trek will be coming to the U.K. via the Video on Demand (VOD) service offered by Virgin Media, with the exception of the original series, which is being aired by the Sci Fi Channel.

Episodes will be accessible to those subscribing to the premium XL package (via Choice On-Demand service) offered by Virgin. Virgin Media digital subscribers will have free access to episodes broadcast in the last seven days on Virgin1. Select episodes will be offered for free via the Virgin Central Channel.

VOD and pay-per-view markets are forecast to grow rapidly in Europe. With the addition of Star Trek to the VOD service, hundreds of hours of Star Trek programming will be available for viewing.
