Hello World!

Today I started looking for potential Christmas gifts. Trouble is, I kept finding things that I wouldn't mind having, which meant that I got rather sidetracked. You'd be amazed at all the 'Lord of the Rings' stuff out there - in one bookshop I went to, there was more merchandising devoted to it than to Harry Potter. Soon we'll be seeing cuddly Gandalf dolls...

I did manage to finally pick up 'Civilization III' today, however. The new format took a bit of getting used too, but I think I like a lot of the changes they've made to the game. So, if you don't mind me, there are Zulus to intimidate...

Trek Two Years Ago

These were some of the major news headlines on November 24, 1999:

  • Second Jason Alexander Interview
Long-time Trek fan Jason Alexander, who appeared as Kurros in Voyager's 'Think Tank,' joked about having to appear in a Starfleet uniform during UPN's 'Ultimate Trek' special:

"First of all, I have such new respect for every cast member that's ever had to don one of those things, they hit you everywhere you don't want to be hit, the old ones in particular, just grisly, those outfits, very unflattering, and put on top of it that wonderful toupee I was wearing. I'm not only on a crash diet, I'm considering plastic surgery, liposuction, whatever it takes."

  • Good 'One Small Step' Ratings
Voyager's 'One Small Step' scored a 3.7 rating / 6 share, the highest mark for the series since September's 'Barge of the Dead.'
