Hello World!

This morning, something happened that really made my day.

Two guys were sitting behind me on the bus to uni, talking about television. All of a sudden, one of them started talking about a Star Trek series they'd been watching on TV. Naturally, my ears pricked up. Sure enough, he started telling his friend about the premise of the show, which centred around "the adventures of a crew trying to get home."

As he proceeded to tell his friend about how good Voyager was, I sat there contentedly. Somehow, it was gratifying to know that while, across the seas in North America, Voyager's final moments were being played out on television, someone else was spreading the word about the series.

More than anything, it was a moment that showed that a Star Trek series can capture the hearts and minds of people world-wide, and live on beyond its television run.
