Sources connected to Star Trek: Enterprise have claimed that sets are being built for a Constitution Class starship, the USS Defiant, for the upcoming episode "In A Mirror, Darkly", reportedly set in the universe of "Mirror, Mirror" and Deep Space Nine's Intendant episodes.

Save Enterprise cites unnamed sources as stating that the Defiant, last seen disappearing on the original series episode "The Tholian Web", will appear in "In A Mirror, Darkly." Executive producer Manny Coto mentioned that viewers would see a live Tholian this season (story), so this is likely the episode he meant. Reportedly the area of space into which the Defiant was pulled during "The Tholian Web" brought it into the parallel universe, where doubles of everything in the familiar Star Trek universe often tend to be darker or more violent.

The sets currently under construction reportedly include a segment of the Bridge from the science station to viewscreen, a briefing room, a rec room, crew quarters, a corridor and a turbolift. In addition, the episode will feature a CGI Defiant battling starships from the 22nd century, including the ISS Avenger, an NX-class vessel from the mirror universe.

Similar sets were built for Deep Space Nine's "Trials and Tribble-ations", when it was necessary to recreate parts of the original series Enterprise NCC-1701. Parts of the bridge, a turbolift and corridors were constructed for the Deep Space Nine characters who traveled back in time.

The original report appears at Save Enterprise. Until such information is confirmed by Paramount or UPN, it should be treated as hearsay.
