Hello World!

I really need to buy myself a new CD player. For the past year or so, I almost exclusively played music CDs on my laptop, but perhaps it would be a good idea to get a real player for when I'm working on the site as well, as the laptop player appears to be absolutely destructive for all my CDS. I'd already noticed that some discs simply refused to play on the laptop - they'd start spinning around, locking up every five seconds, and generally making more noise than a chainsaw. And then I'm talking about the CDs, not the actual music on them, thank you very much.

Anyway, as long as this only occurred with a couple of CDs, I could live with it - I'd just play them whenever I wasn't working here, and there were enough other CDs left. However, a couple of weeks ago I noticed to my chagrin that one of my favourite CDs (Sarah McLachlan's 'Surfacing') now also refused to play, and when I opened the tray to get it out the CD came out in two parts! I was hoping this was an isolated incident, but this morning the laptop even began to stutter when I inserted my absolute favourite CD (Roxette's 'Crash! Boom! Bang'), so now the need for a real player for here has gotten really urgent. I'll just have to restrict myself to my small MP3 collection of favourite songs and the radio - hopefully if that leads to me buying less CDs over the coming months I'll also actually be able to afford a new player.

Janeway 32.1% - (986 Votes)
The Doctor 17.7% - (546 Votes)
No-one 6.4% - (197 Votes)

And as usual, one of the relationship polls manages to get more votes than any two other polls combined. Hopefully the people at Paramount won't see these results, as otherwise they'd probably radically change their mind about Series V and turn it into 'As The Dyson Sphere Turns' or something similar.

In our new poll, you're asked what you thought about yesterday's new Voyager episode, 'Nightingale':

Are you happy about the victory of Blu-ray over HD DVD?
Yes!
No!
I don't care either way.
I'm just glad that the
Rats! What about TOS S2 Remastered?
