UPN has premiered the trailer for Star Trek: Enterprise's "Borderland", which airs next Friday night.

During this episode, written by Ken LaZebnik and directed by David Livingston, a group of genetically engineered humans escape from exile and try to trigger a war between humans and Klingons. Charged with stopping the Augments, Archer brings aboard their creator, Dr. Arik Soong, and takes him into the region of space between the Klingon Empire and the Orion Syndicate known as the Borderland, where the two must work together to rescue abducted crewmembers.

UPN FRIDAY, BRENT SPINER BEGINS A NEW STAR TREK EPIC.

[Arik Soong turns and smiles menacingly.]
[Text: 'BRENT SPINER']
[A flare whitens the screen.]

[Text: 'ALL NEW STAR TREK ENTERPRISE FRIDAY 8/7c UPN']
[Explosions and flames rock the bridge.]
[Soong and a group of men stand inside an airlock.]
[Soong, handcuffed, makes a mocking bow with his fingers steepled.]
Soong: "Permission to come aboard, sir?"

HE'S EARTH'S GREATEST MIND...

[An Augment performs an acrobatic fight stunt.]
[Archer and Reed are grabbed and held.]

...A GENIUS WHO KNOWS NO MERCY.

[Reed draws and aims a phase pistol.]
[T'Pol cries out in pain.]
[Text: 'NO MERCY']
[Soong speaks before a wall of notes.]
Soong: "Looks like you might have saved Earth for nothing."
[Klingons storm through a passageway.]

AND HE'LL KINDLE A HATRED THAT WILL LAST FOR GENERATIONS.

[T'Pol and others sit surrounded by guards.]
A Klingon ship flies through space, firing weapons.]
[Text: 'GENERATIONS']
[Soong and a woman stand in an Enterprise corridor.]
Soong: "Start learning how to speak Klingon."
[More Klingons march down the corridor.]
[Archer speaks into a communicator.]
Archer: "Archer to bridge."
[Tucker calls out in engineering.]
Tucker: "Two of my people just disappeared!"
[T'Pol is beamed off the Enterprise bridge.]

THE SPECIAL THREE-PART STAR TREK SAGA HAS ARRIVED.

[An Orion slave girl saunters from a jail cell holding other aliens.]
[Soong walks through a laboratory.]
[Phlox stares around the same laboratory.]
[In a dark room, Soong addresses the Augments.]
Soong: "Thousands of your brothers and sisters are waiting to be born."
[The augments aim weapons.]
[A group of augments follow Soong through a corridor.]
[An Augment shoves Archer aside.]
Soong: "Let's go get them."
