Hello World!

As you may recall, about a year ago I wrote here about a possible idea for an article on the Trek Nation, for which someone who had never seen Star Trek before would write about his or her experiences while watching the show. Not surprisingly, it turned out that most people reading the site in fact didn't really know anyone without Star Trek experience, so the article idea fell through.

However, thanks to TrekToday reader and sometimes contributor John A.D. Holt, there is a good chance this idea will finally turn into an actual article in the coming months, as he recently let us know that a friend of his might want to write such an article. Apparently this friend is in fact a confirmed hater of Star Trek and sci-fi in general, so it would be interesting to see what her impression would be of what we consider to be the true Trek classics. Therefore, we also just set up the new TrekToday poll, asking which episode you would recommend for this article - all episodes included in the poll are very good, but please vote on which you think would be the best to introduce someone to Star Trek with. I'm already looking forward to seeing how this 'experiment' turns out - I wonder if Star Trek still has the power to win over new fans.

As mentioned in 'Hello World!', the new poll asks you what you think would be the best episode with which to introduce someone to Star Trek:

I don't care either way.

Rats! What about TOS S2 Remastered?

Happy Birthday!

Today is the 41st birthday of Jason Alexander, the ex-'Seinfield' star and Star Trek fan who appeared in Voyager's 'Think Tank' and hosted the 'Ultimate Trek' UPN special. In addition, according to the official Star Trek site, it is the birthday of Rosalind Chao (Keiko), but the Internet Movie Database says that's still 6 days away.
