Hello World!

Well, I didn't think this would happen, but I'm actually beginning to feel a bit emotional about the Voyager finale. As the show of course airs here in the Netherlands at least a year after new episodes air in the US, most of my own interest in Voyager is channeled through TrekToday - in many ways, being a Star Trek and a Voyager fan for me isn't so much expressed in seeing the actual episodes, but more in writing about those episodes. It really hit me when I received the news submissions about those new Voyager video clips: 40 minutes from now, writing about upcoming Voyager episodes won't be of any use anymore, as there simply won't be any left.

It's strange how I'm actually feeling this more than when DS9 aired. That show, like TNG, of course aired in syndication, so the finale was aired at different times over a one-week period. With Voyager, we just know that in 40 minutes 'Endgame' will start airing on the East Coast, and a few hours after that everyone will really have seen it all. It's much harder to escape from this, and literally all American Voyager fans will suddenly be faced with a huge post-finale depression at the same time.

At the risk of repeating myself, thanks to all of you who visited TrekToday over the past two years to read Voyager news - I hope you'll keep coming back for Enterprise and 'Star Trek X' as well. Have fun with the finale tonight.
