New Voyager Ratings Disappoint

Following after one of Voyager's lowest-rated reruns ever, 'Q2' still managed to surprise by getting the show's highest ranking since 'Drive,' but a week later 'Author, Author' failed to build on these ratings and sunk dangerously close to Voyager's all-time lows.

According to the Star Trek Nielsen Ratings Information Database, on the 11th of April 'Q2' scored a 3.0 rating/5 share. Though this certainly wasn't one of Voyager's highest ratings this season, the episode aired a week after the 'Inside Man' rerun got only a 1.9. In addition, television viewership for the whole week was down, and Voyager managed to land at no.83 on the weekly network rankings, its highest placing there since early this season.

Unfortunately, a week later 'Author, Author' disappointed, falling one tenth of a point to a 2.9 rating, 4 share. This is only a tenth of a point above Voyager's lowest-rated episodes this Winter, and does not bode well for the show's remaining set of episodes.

Meanwhile, the new UPN show 'Special Unit 2' is doing rather well. Launched in the old 'Seven Days' timeslot, an hour before Voyager, the show premiered with a 2.2 and managed to build on that by earning a 2.4 a week later. These ratings virtually guarantee the show's survival, as most other new UPN shows this season have only had their ratings decline after the premiere.
