Hello World!

Finally finished my Christmas shopping today after what must be five trips to the shops in the past couple of weeks. Presents are wrapped and under the tree - everyone can spot the ones from me a mile off since I'm quite possibly the worst wrapper in the world. Give me a pair of scissors, sticky-tape and paper and I'll somehow manage to make a mess of everything.

Christmas always seems to come upon us so suddenly - my brother's birthday was only last week, mine the week before that, and my sister's at the end of November. Consequently, Christmas is this far-off event that no one really realises is coming until the week before. Of course, it didn't help our present buying schedule when my brother and I spent an hour or so watching 'The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring' on a big-screen in the shopping centre today.

As this will be the last Hello World! before Christmas Day, I'd like to wish all our visitors a Merry Christmas!

Trek Two Years Ago

These were some of the major news items on December 22, 2000:

  • Q On Voyager Rumours Resurface
SFX reported a rumour Q would be making his third and final Voyager appearance in one of the show's final episodes. The rumour turned out to be true, with the omnipotent being returning in 'Q2.'

  • Jeri Ryan Talks To TV Guide
Voyager actress Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine) told TV Guide what viewers could expect from Seven in the show's final episodes. "She's been experimenting with her sexuality and experiencing real emotions and real romantic feelings. I think you'll see her trying to hold on to being really connected with another person. But I think she'll end up as a tragic figure."
