Enterprise will launch its Feburary sweeps offerings with a follow-up to "Proving Ground".

StarTrek.com today released the official synopsis for "Stratagem", currently scheduled to air on Feburary 4. The episode will continue the quest for the Xindi's weapon of mass destruction in the aftermath of "Proving Ground", with the Enterprise scoring a major coup by capturing Degra, the mastermind behind the plan to destroy Earth. According to the official web site, Captain Archer will try to trick Degra into revealing the weapon's location.

The teleplay for "Stratagem" was written by Enterprise stalwart Mike Sussman ("Anomaly") from a story by Terry Matalas, who previously co-wrote the story for "Impulse". Mike Vejar, who first directed for Star Trek in the early days of The Next Generation, was calling the shots behind the camera.

Randy Oglesby reprises the role of Degra for the fifth time this season, having previously appeared in "The Xindi", "Rajiin", "The Shipment" and "Proving Ground". Josh Drennen also returns as Degra's assistant, Thalen.

Principal photography wrapped this Tuesday after a seven-day shoot, with three and a half of those days taken up with scenes between Degra and Captain Archer on an alien shuttle set. The rest of the filming was conducted on regular NX-01 locales ranging from the bridge to the new command centre.

The original production report is available here at StarTrek.com.
