Hello World!

I had another brush with death today... or at least that's what my adrenal glands told me. Another spider practically fell on me today while I was making lunch. On the plus side this time, it was rather smaller and less hairy. On the minus, however, it was instantly identifiable as a white-tailed spider, which is actually poisonous, unlike the hairy huntsmen mentioned in my previous articles dealing with the subject. Now, while the white-tail won't actually kill an adult under normal circumstances, it can certainly make you feel pretty bloody crook and has the nasty side-effect in some cases of leaving lingering, painful skin-ulcer kind of things around the bitten area. Not pleasant at all. So, I'm note very sorry to report to all you arachnid lovers out there that the spider is now explaining to it's maker how it met it's fate with a well-thrown shoe.

Let's see - what else can I talk about today? Well, I could complain a bit about the way people are voting in the poll (I mean Janeway and Harry are more compatible with Seven than the Doc? Not a chance in hell, I'm sorry…) but I think I've just about given up hope on it. Some people just have no taste ;). Next time I run one of these polls, however, guess who *won't* be on the voting options list? You might have won this time… BWAHAHAHAHAHA! (ahem) But seriously, people with dynamic IP addresses – please don't vote more than once, at least not for the same person – much as we like getting poll results with over 2000 participants, it's not fair to the people who have but one vote to cast and it skews the results something chronic. Unless everyone here is living in Palm Beach FL, I think we should all be able to get our heads around the 'one man/woman/other, one vote' concept.

Finally, regarding the 'Shattered' script, which I've received a number of e-mails about: does anyone know exactly how long it took me to summarize the damn thing? ;)

This Image is copyright of Paramount While Voyager's power core is down undergoing extensive maintenance, a Kraylor ship ostensibly on a humanitarian mission, is brutally attacked by the warring Annari. Harry Kim is granted permission to take the helm of the crippled vessel and, with the assistance of Seven of Nine, help her on her voyage home. Kim's new position, however, goes to his head, and he finds himself learning a lesson in leadership while under the Annari guns.
