On the national ratings front, Voyager this week continued its slow but steady climb back into respectibility, climbing in the numbers for the 3rd week in a row.

According to a report now available at the Star Trek Nielsen Ratings Information Database, 'The Void' took in a 3.1 rating / 5 share:

Despite scoring exactly the same rating in the overnights as the previous week’s episode, ‘Prophecy’, ‘The Void’ actually managed to add .1 to the weekly tally, bringing it to 3.1/5. this represents a continuation of the slow but steady ratings increase we’ve seen the resumption of the season at the beginning of the year. This again represents the highest score obtained by a Voyager episode since the broadcast of ‘Body and Soul’ mid-November of 2000.

Coming in at number 89, Voyager was UPN’s second highest rating show for the week, trailing the usual top performer , ‘WWF Smackdown!’ which rated 4.3/7 and came in at number 83.

Also now available is the overnight rating for the first half of 'Workforce', yesterday's new episode. Overnight ratings represent the top 47 markets in the country, and for Voyager are often a lot higher than the final nationwide ratings. Unfortunately, Voyager slipped down this week, but there may be extenuating circumstances.

Unfortunately there’s no 5.0 above or rating to celebrate this week - the first instalment of two-parter ‘Workforce’ slipped slightly from last week to 4.5/6, down .4 from ‘The Void’s 4.9/7.

On the other hand, this can be attributed in part at least due to the ‘43rd Annual Grammy Awards’, which won every timeslot for CBS between 8 and 11pm. Voyager, while coming in 5th in its slot, did manage to completely trounced Warner Brother’s Dawson’s Creek repeat at 2.2/ 3 by a whopping 105 percent. Also of note was this week’s episode of ‘Seven Days’, which guest starred Voyager actor Robert Picardo (the Doctor). Airing prior to Voyager, his appearance appears to have some of the ratings effect it was hoped to have – while slightly down from last week with a 3.0/ 5, it also managed to pull ahead of Dawson’s Creek by an unprecedented 23%.

The full overnight ratings report can be found here, while the full national ratings report for 'The Void' can be found here.
