Signing her confidentiality agreement leads to unexpected consequences for Winona Ryder.

As reported at contactmusic.com, heavy smoker Ryder has found that the desire to keep the details of Star Trek XI secret has clashed with her need to take occasional smoke breaks.

The actress is among the stars upset at having to spend the entire day working in a non-smoking compound on the remote California desert location where filming is occurring without being permitted to go outside to smoke.

J.J. Abrams has explained to Ryder the need for secrecy and how they rely more on it for the sake of box office buzz than other films. He is adamant that details of costumes and set designs aren't leaked out to the public ahead of time. While Ryder said that she understood, the lack of ability to have a cigarette is frustrating to the actress.
