Berman Stays Mum On Temporal Cold War

Executive Producer Rick Berman remained tight-lipped about just who is manipulating the players in Enterprise's temporal Cold War in a new interview.

"Yes, we have a relatively good idea who's messing with things. And I ain't gonna tell ya who it is!" Berman told Star Trek Monthly.

"I will say that we have it in our heads, but there are variations on it that would give us different spins as it plays itself out," he continued. "So it's not totally locked down, but we have a pretty good idea of who's doing what and the different ways it could go."

He went on to talk about the current Enterprise writing staff. "John Shiban, our newest writer, is working out great and he will be with us for the rest of the season," said Berman. "We're looking to bring in another writer as well and I will hopefully be able to tell you more about that next month.

"I think we've got a really good Season Two of Enterprise. I told you last time that we're a little bit ahead of ourselves in terms of scripts, and we still are, which gives us some bumper room."

Berman also touched upon the subject of 'Nemesis,' discussing what kind of material might make it onto a DVD release of the film. "Well, there are a lot of interviews and a lot of B-roll behind the scenes footage that's been shot, but we shoot a lot of that kind of stuff on every film. As far as extra scenes for the DVD, there's nothing that comes to mind. And we probably wouldn't know that we had an extra scene until we've got a final print of the film," he said.

"I keep saying that Nemesis will be the best Star Trek film I've been involved with and nothing's happened with it that would cause me to think otherwise," he finished.

Much more from Rick Berman can be found in issue 97 of Star Trek Monthly, on sale now in the UK. Alternatively extracts have been made available online here at Scifi Pulse or here at Startrek UK.
