Details of and images from the upcoming special edition DVD release of Star Trek: Nemesis, which is expected to be released on October 4th, have been released by Paramount Home Entertainment.

DVD Answers has released the specs on the upcoming two-disc set, which is expected to sell for around $19.99 like previous Star Trek feature film DVD SEs. Like those others, Nemesis will be released in 2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen Transfer, with Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 Surround sound as well as English and French Dolby 2.0.

The new release will feature text commentary by Trek historians Michael and Denise Okuda plus audio commentary by both director Stuart Baird and executive producer Rick Berman. The film will also come with a new assortment of deleted scenes different from those on the initial release, including "Wesley's New Mission", "Data and B-4", "The Chance for Peace", "A Loss of Self", "Cleaning out Data's Quarters", "Crusher at Starfleet Medical", and an extended "Remember Him?"

There are also numerous featurettes, including "Nemesis Revisited", "The Romulan Senate", "The Scimitar", "The Enterprise E", "Build and Rebuild", "Romulan Lore", "Shinzon & The Viceroy", "Romulan Design", "Four-Wheeling in the Final Frontier" and a sequence on storyboarding the action.

The second disc also includes Tom Hardy's screen test as Shinzon, featurettes on Baird as a director, the Star Trek: The Next Generation cast's final journey together and a demonstration of action filming. There are also storyboards, production archives, trailers and hidden easter eggs.

Star Trek Nemesis: The Special Edition may be preordered now from Amazon.com. These details are courtesy DVD Answers.
