'Star Trek' Movies Set photo - courtesy Region 2 Project, copyright Paramount PicturesParamount Pictures will release a new DVD box set of the Star Trek feature films next month.

Billed as the "Star Trek DVD Movies Collection", the package will hit stores on August 11 and include all films from Star Trek: The Motion Picture to Star Trek Nemesis, the Region 2 Project reported. The box set will only be available in Europe (DVD Region 2).

The director's editions of Star Trek: The Motion Picture and Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan will be included in the package, instead of the original DVD releases of these two films. Similarly, the new set will incorporate the special edition DVDs of both Star Trek III: The Search For Spock and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.

On the other hand, the DVD collection will not include the recently announced collector's edition of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (story). There have also been reports of special editions in the works for Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and Star Trek Generations, but these will not be out in time to be included in this set.

The "Star Trek DVD Movies Collection" will also include a 16-page booklet and four film stills from Star Trek Nemesis. The package has a retail price of £109.99 in the United Kingdom, but can be pre-ordered from Amazon.co.uk for £82.49.

The original news, as well as larger versions of the above image, can be found at the Region 2 Project or DVD Answers. Thanks to Chris Hanratty for this!
