Picardo In 'Sensored'

Playing a man hiding a terrible secret is different from Robert Picardo's usual mild-mannered officious type of character.

As reported by Sci Fi Wire, Picardo will be playing Wade Mixon, a children's book illustrator with a dark secret.

The character is "Your neighbor down the block who seems kind of like Mr. Rogers, who is torturing someone in the basement," explained Picardo. "Or maybe he's not. You don't know whether I'm a CIA deprogrammer or whether I think I'm a CIA deprogrammer."

Sensored is drawing more than its usual share of attention due to the use of a new type of camera used in filming. The Red One camera used to film Sensored is new and is touted as a "high performance digital cine camera with the quality of 35 mm film and convenience of pure digital." Other films are using it, but Sensored is the first film that has completed shooting with the new camera. "...We're the first completed feature, so it's going to get a lot of attention industry-wise just because of the technology," said Picardo. "But I also think it's a really cool movie, ...and I play the lead in it!"

Picardo described his character Wade Mixon. "I'm just a nerdy guy who hates his life and wants to get out of it," he said. "But, when I'm bad, I'm very bad."

Sensored is in post-production and does not yet have a release date. A trailer can be seen at the movie's official website located here.
