Wang Says Voyager Movie Doubtful

Voyager's Ensign Kim might never be seen on our screens again. At least according to the man who played him, Garrett Wang.

"Now that the Next Generation has taken over the flame from the original cast when it comes to Star Trek features, I don't know if there's room for Deep Space Nine or Voyager movies," he told SciFi Wire.

Despite the fact that rumours have surfaced that Trek X will be the last Trek Film to feature the Next Generation cast, Wang didn't think a Voyager movie would be planned. "I find it hard to see Patrick Stewart or Brent Spiner saying no to the paychecks that they're getting if Paramount asks them to do Star Trek XI," he commented. "If it's a good story and the money is good, I think they'd do it again."

The actor knew that the final decisions about a film do not rest with the cast, or the fans. "Whatever happens, whenever the TNG movies stop, the studio will have to decide, 'Do we want to make a movie with the DS9 cast, the Voyager cast, or even both together?'" he said. "I think, in terms of a cohesive group, we have a little more cohesion than DS9. But I'd love to work on a project with DS9 actors, too. That would be fun."
