Pocket Books has announced its planned lineup for the Mirror Universe novels due to be released in 2007.

Editor Marco Palmieri posted at the TrekBBS that the first volume, to be edited by himself and Margaret Clark, would be a trade paperback containing three novels: an Enterprise story by Mike Sussman, who wrote the "In a Mirror Darkly" episodes, along with Dayton Ward & Kevin Dilmore, a classic Star Trek story by David Mack and a Next Generation tale by Greg Cox.

That volume will be released in February, with titles announced when they become final. The second volume, edited solely by Palmieri, will contain a Deep Space Nine novel by Sarah Shaw, a Voyager tale by Keith R.A. DeCandido and a New Frontier installment by Peter David.

"Though it's way to early to spill details, I think I can get away with saying that it's very definitely a sequel (even a continuation, if you will), of 'In A Mirror, Darkly,'" Ward said of the story he was writing with Sussman. Palmieri noted that the novels would be consistent with the televised Mirror Universe but not with the Dark Passions duology published several years ago by Pocket Books.

David has another project in the works. A Newsarama article on the author's appearance at WonderCon noted that David is writing a Next Generation novel featuring the Borg, "with his mission being to make the Borg not suck...you cannot reason with them, they do not have a plan, and there is no Queen. He described the Borg as a race of Terminators that will kick ass and be taking names."

DeCandido posted at the TrekBBS, "Since Peter's book hit Newsarama, I thought I'd mention it more formally: I'm writing the second post-Nemesis 20th-anniversary TNG novel, which will be out...shortly before Peter's book." He said that the book would be called Q&A.
