DS9 DVD Menu Shots Released

'DS9 DVD menu' -- courtsey of The R2 Project, copyright Paramount Home EntertainmentParamount has released the first shots of the DVD menus for its upcoming Deep Space Nine DVDs.

The images, which have been published at The R2 Project, depict various menus from the first season region 2 DVD box set. Two of the images show various options for the DVD, set against a new image of the Deep Space Nine space station.

The menus for the TNG DVD releases took the appearance of Starfleet LCARS displays. Fittingly, some of the DS9 menus are in the style of Cardassian computer terminals as seen on the station throughout the show's run. One of the images is shown above.

These images are for the region 2 release of the DVDs, so other regions may be different. However, the TNG releases had the same menus in different regions despite having different packaging. It's reasonable to assume that the DS9 releases will follow the same pattern.

The first season box set is due for release on 25 February in the US, and on 24 March in the UK and Germany (story). Special features include interviews with Nana Visitor (Kira Nerys) and executive producer Ira Steven Behr (story).
