Keeping one's feet firmly on the ground helps one avoid problems when an actor finds celebrity.

As reported by Sci Fi Pulse, from a article in the latest issue of Total Film magazine, Simon Pegg finds that using a bit of common sense is essential in surviving Hollywood and fame. "I understand how you can change," he explained, "but as long as you always appreciate that it's a facile thing, then you'll stay on top of it. You want to continue to work and you want to continue to work with the best people and inevitably you sort of move up and start working on bigger films and it's very difficult to say, 'I'd better not do that because it will make me famous.'"

Being recognized as a Star Trek XI actor has its own difficulties. Pegg is required to keep quiet about the movie due to the strict secrecy demanded by Paramount. "I have a Paramount bomb injected into my neck so if I mention anything to do with it, it will explode!" he said when asked about the movie. "I've never been on any film that's so secretive. I had to travel to set in a covered golf buggy wearing a cloak so you couldn't see my uniform. Somebody got a shot of Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock, so after that it was just lockdown."

Pegg assured fans that he will portray Scotty respectfully. "I think people are worried I'm going to undermine the franchise by being outwardly comic," said Pegg, "but I hope I can put their minds at rest and tell them I'm approaching it with complete and utter dedication to the original."

Meanwhile, Romulan baddy Clifton Collins Jr. is adjusting to the make-up required for playing the part of a Romulan, as reported by The National Ledger. "It [make-up] took, on a good day, two and a half hours in makeup. On a bad day, four." But Collins enjoys being a bit cloaked for a role. "I love hiding in all my roles, whether it's an accent or physical mannerism. That's the fun for me."
