Hello World!

A few completely unrelated points today:

  • I had one of those "You know you're a Classics student when" moments the other day. Cinescape reported that writers had been hired to pen the upcoming Elektra film, and I immediately thought they were referring to the play by Sophocles. Alas, they weren't, but at least the film has Jennifer Garner.

  • Thank-you for your emails on the jaffle iron question. I am now confident that the US has not in fact been deprived of this wonderful electrical appliance.

  • Gilmore Girls is finally returning to Australian screens on Tuesday nights. Not only is this my "day of hell" when I don't get home to nearly 8 p.m. courtesy of a Greek history lecture, it also happens to be the night of CSI and The West Wing. Oh well, I guess that's what they invented VCRs for.

I hope you all have a Happy Easter and don't eat too much chocolate. I certainly have.

The official site announced that Oscar-winner Doug Drexler would be joining Series V as an illustrator. Drexler previously worked in the art department on The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager.

    • McNeill Reveals Favourite Voyager Is 'Threshold'
Robert Duncan McNeill sent shockwaves through Voyager fandom when he announced his favourite Voyager episode is "Threshold". "I really like 'Threshold', the Warp Ten episode where I turn into a lizard," he said. "Yeah, I got to play the Elephant man, or Frankenstein in that one. I just saw a picture the other day that showed the moment when my tongue falls out. It was just so much fun to play this disgusting, wonderful transformation.
