Shatner In 'Miss Congeniality'

According to an article by Reuters' Dana Harris, William Shatner (James T. Kirk) has signed on for 'Miss Congeniality', starring Sandra Bullock. The picture deals with an FBI agent, played by Bullock, who must go undercover in the Miss New Jersey beauty pageant to prevent a terrorist group from bombing the event. Shatner will play the pageant's longtime emcee who has been told that this will be his last year to host the event.

Other cast members are Jennifer Gareis ('The Sixth Day') as the real Miss New Jersey, Wendy Raquel Robinson ('Ringmaster') as Miss California, Diedre Quinn as Miss Texas and, according to the IMDB listing, Michael Caine as 'Vic'. The film, which will be directed by Donald Petrie, will start filming next month.
