  • The DVD release of Star Trek: The Next Generation has been named 'TV DVD of the Year' by IGN DVD. The series also won 'Best TV DVD Audio,' with season seven named runner-up in the 'Best TV DVD Transfer' category, and the series as a whole named runner-up in 'Best Menus' and 'Best Packaging.'   • Cinescape has reviewed the updated version of The Next Generation Companion. Their verdict is that it's "definitely the book to get."

  • Whoopi Goldberg (Guinan) is developing a new series for NBC, according to a report at Zap2it. It will be her first prime-time series in more than a decade.
