Armin Shimerman will direct his wife, Kitty Swink - who made guest appearances on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine while her husband was a series regular as Quark - in a new production of Shakespeare's Macbeth in Los Angeles.

StarTrek.com reports that Shimerman will follow up a recent appearance as Claudius in Hamlet for the Uprising Theatre Company by staging "the Scottish Play" (as it is known in superstitious theatrical circles) for the company. Each ticket to the play includes admission to a Shakespeare workshop, to be conducted by Shimerman, at the Court Theatre during the play's run from January 6th-29th.

In addition to being an alumnus of the American Shakespeare Festival and the New York Shakespeare Festival, Shimerman has written a novel, The Merchant Prince, about Renaissance philosopher John Dee. He also made a recent appearance in Single Santa Seeks Mrs. Claus on the Hallmark Channel.

Macbeth will be performed five times each week at the Court Theatre. Information about tickets may be found at the Uprising Theatre web site. Information about the cast and crew may be found at the play's official site.
