Adam Bailey, editor of the Optical Data Network, has sent out Volume V, Issue 7 of his officially bi-weekly Trek newsletter. Due to a major increase in Adam's workload, the newsletter went on a two-month hiatus after issue 104, published in mid-April, but now a new edition has finally been published:

I wasn't sure this day would come. I wasn't sure I'd be able to bounce back after two months off. And technically I still haven't yet, since there's still a massive amount of material that I owe you. But here it is. Optical Data Network died, yet we're back.

I would love nothing better than to wax philosophic about what it meant to go on hiatus and not know if I'd ever be able to return, but this issue is already too big. [There] was way too much material to incorporate it all into one issue. Not counting software items, there were over 350 NewsBits by the time I had mostly caught up. (And I haven't even totally caught up, I just went to the most useful resources.) It will likely be four or five issues before I'm totally caught up, spread over much of the summer. So if you know of something that happened in the last two months that I didn't report, the odds are better than 70% that I have it. But I've tried to fill this issue with the most important stuff with a few non-important items scattered in. The rest will have its time in due course.

If you haven't yet received the new issue in your mailbox, you can find it here on the ODN site. If you want to subscribe to the newsletter, you can do so by following this link and submitting your email address.
